About Us
Our Mission
Champion Mindset Gymnastics exists to develop a culture of inclusivity in the sport of gymnastics for girls of color, Provide a safe space for youth to thrive and excel in gymnastics and in life, and Developing champion-minded individuals through discipline, integrity, faith, and confidence.
At its core, CMG is about self-worth. We teach our athletes to stop being “regular” and to be extraordinary everywhere they go.
Meet Coach Socoya:

Hi, I’m Coach Socoya Moody, Head Coach at Champion Mindset Gymnastics. I bring over 15 years of coaching experience in both gymnastics and dance—and a lifetime of passion for movement and performance.
My journey began at just 2 years old, training in both gymnastics and dance. While I eventually chose to focus on dance in college, gymnastics has always had a special place in my heart. After graduating, I performed around the world for over three years with The Walt Disney Company, an experience that deepened my love for performance, discipline, and creativity.
When the world reopened after COVID, we founded Champion Mindset Gymnastics—a space where brown girls can be seen, celebrated, and supported in the sport of gymnastics. I’m deeply committed to helping every athlete unlock their full potential, both on and off the mat.
As a coach, I strive to be fair, honest, loving, and a consistent positive influence. You can expect high standards, compassionate guidance, and a deep belief in each gymnast’s ability to grow.
Outside the gym, you’ll find me performing in local theatre productions, traveling the world, and spending time with my husband, Coach Chris, and our family and friends. Together, we’re passionate about making a difference in our community—one gymnast at a time.
